Giveaway Announcement!

Hebben jullie de kleine enquête rechtsboven al gezien? Ik hoop binnenkort de 50 volgers te gaan halen, en ga dan een leuke kleine giveaway geven. Om een goede keuze te maken qua prijs heb ik jullie hulp nodig! Om het niet te breed te maken wilde ik de keuze geven uit nagellakjes van Safari (natuurlijk niet precies deze nagellakjes, maar ik ga een paar nieuwe andere kleurtjes kopen natuurlijk!) of lakjes van Art de Lautrec (hier heb ik nog geen voorbeeld van staan op mn blog, maar dan komen natuurlijk ook hier nieuwe lakjes van ;))

Tutorial: How to sponge!

Vandaag ga ik laten zien hoe je je nagels kunt spongen! Ik ga een manier laten zien waarop je geen duur spongesetje van Konad hoeft aan te schaffen, je kunt dit natuurlijk wel doen als je het zelf lekker vind werken.

Today I'm going to show you how to sponge! I'm going to show you my way of spongen without using a spongeset from Konad, if you want to buy a spongeset, you can do that also.

Ik begin zelf met een simpel schuursponsje, ik knip een schuursponsje in 6 stukjes. Ieder stukje spons is geschikt om mee te sponsen, zorg er alleen wel voor dat je niet gaat sponsen met het ruwe oppervlak (het donkergroene deel dus).

I start with a scourer, just cut the scourer in 6 halfs. Every piece of sponge is good for sponging, but make sure you don't use the darkgreen part.

Hierboven zie je 2 stukjes schuurspons. Van een stukje spons kun je dus 6 kleine stukjes knippen.

Above you can see 2 pieces of sponge. From one sponge you can cut 6 pieces.

Wanneer je je spons klaar hebt moet je een lakje uitzoeken waarmee je kunt sponsen. De meeste lakjes zijn hier wel geschikt voor, maar ook met stempellakken kun je sponsen. Ik heb hierboven dus een rode en een witte stempellak. Hiermee ga ik dus sponsen.

When you're sponge is ready, you've got to choose a polish. Most polishes are good for sponging, but you can use stampingpolishes also. I took a red and white stampingpolish.

Nu pak je een wit papiertje en hier doe je wat lak op. Het maakt dus niet uit welke kleur je nu gebruikt, ik heb de rode genomen nu. Maar je kunt dus ook een witte nemen. Of deze 2 lakken mengen.

Now you can take a piece of paper, and drop some of the polish on it. It don't make any sense which colour you take, I took the red on. You can mix the colours too.

Wanneer je een lak wilt mixen hoef je alleen maar een aantal druppels bij elkaar op een blaadje te leggen, en er met bijvoorbeeld een sateprikker doorheen te mixen. Rood en wit zorgt dus voor een roze sponslak.

When you want to mix a spongecolour, just put some colours together on a paper and mix it with a toothpick. Red and white turns into a pink spongecolour.

Goed ik ga nu weer terug naar de druppel rode nagellak. Pak het sponsje en dip het in de druppel rode nagellak en het deel op je spons wordt rood van de lak. Zorg ervoor dat je niet teveel nagellak gebruikt, anders valt het effect van sponsen een beetje weg.

Alright, I'm going on with the red polish. Now you can take your sponge and dip it into the red polish on the piece of paper. Your sponge turns red from the polish. Just make sure that you don't use to many nailpolish, or else you can't see that you sponged it.

Vervolgens dip je met het sponsje over je nagel heen. Hierboven heb ik bijvoorbeeld een schuin deel van mn nagel gesponst. Je kunt zelf weten welk deel je sponst en met welke kleur.

Up next you dip the sponge onto your nail. Above I made a part of my nail red with the sponge. It's not important which part you sponge or which colour you use.

Wanneer je klaar bent met sponsen kun je het bovenste deel van het sponsje erafknippen. Zo kun je hetzelfde sponsje nog eens gebruiken voor een volgende keer. 1 Stukje spons kun je zo intotaal 2x gebruiken. Na een tweede keer sponsen kun je het stukje weggooien en moet je een nieuw stukje gebruiken. Wanneer je met verschillende kleuren wilt sponsen raad ik je aan om dan steeds een klein hoekje van de spons te gebruiken (zoals je ziet op bovenstaande foto) zodat je niet elke keer hoeft te knippen.

When you're done, you cut the above part of the sponge. The part that remains can you use for another spongingtime. With one piece of sponge you can sponge 2 times. After the second time just throw the sponge out. When you're using more colours once, make sure you use a corner, for the other colour you can use another corner. Now you don't have to cut the sponge everytime.

Ik hoop dat dit een beetje nuttig is voor degenen die nog niets wisten over spongen!/I hope this was usefull for the ones who didn't knew sponging already!

I really hate brown polishes, so i'm not going to say brown.. Maybe some dark redish nearly to brown.

I don't count the kisses when I was a little kid, so i think i was thirtheen when i've got my first serious kiss

Warning: Use a basecoat!!

De meeste dames weten inmiddels wel dat wanneer je je nagels lakt je het beste een basecoat eronder kunt gebruiken, 1 -> Je nagellak hecht beter, waardoor het langer mooi blijft zitten en 2 -> om te voorkomen dat je nagels verkleuren. Over dit laatste ga ik jullie nu iets vertellen...

Ik gebruik áltijd een basecoat, behalve wanneer ik snel wat lakjes swatch voor mijn blog, zoals ik vanmiddag deed. Ik was heel leuk bezig met het swatchen van een blauwe nagellak, totdat ik het erafhaalde.. De horror! Kijk verder om te zien wat er met mn nagels gebeurde!

Most ladies now that when you're using nailpolish, you've got to use a basecoat before, because 1 -> You're polish stays longer on your nails, and 2 -> you're nails won't turn yellow. I'm going to tell you something about that last thing...

I use a basecoat always, except for the times when I just make some swatches for my blog. So today I was swatching some nails, included one blue polish. So far so good, until I removed the polish, the horror!! Look further to see what happened to my nails!

 Mn nagels zagen er dus zo uit! Afschuwelijk, helemaal blauw! En dit was na een kwartiertje boenen met nagellakremover mét aceton! Ik vond het echt afschuwelijk, want het ziet er absoluut niet uit natuurlijk! Ik had een optie om mn nagels te weken in bleek, maar dit is ontzettend slecht voor je nagels, dus ik besloot dit maar niet te doen, ipv bleek vond ik iets anders..

My nails looked like this! Horrible, they were all blue! And this was the result after a quarter cleaning with remover with Acetone! I hated it, it looks so terrible! I thought I'll have to bleach my nails, but this is really bad for my nails, so I looked for something else..

Iemand kwam met een tip om wat warm water te pakken met een klein beetje soda erin. Dit heb ik gedaan en heb ongeveer 10 min met mn nagels in het warme water gezeten. Na 10 minuten kwamen ze er zo uit! Bijna weer zoals ze waren! De foto is iets aan de lichte kant, maar hij is gemaakt in het zonnetje, want die liet zich weereens zien vanmiddag!


Somebody told me that I could use some Soda with a bit of warm water. So I took my nails in the water, and after 10 minutes, they looked like this! Almost how they normally looks like! The pic is a bit light, but that's because it's made in sunlight (yes, the sun was there today!)


Zijn er meerdere die al eens een horrorverhaal met het verkleuren van nagels meegemaakt hebben? Ik ben ontzettend blij dat ze er weer normaal uitzien!/ Are there more people who've got coloured nails? I'm so happy they're normal again!

Waterdecals!

Vorige maand deed ik via hyves mee aan een superleuke fotowedstrijd met het thema herfst. Het leek me wel leuk om mee te doen, dus ik heb een foto ingezonden. Later kreeg ik het bericht dat ik de 2e prijs gewonnen had, dus 10 setjes decals mocht uitzoeken! Gister kreeg ik deze superleuke waterdecals thuis, dus ik ga ze vandaag met jullie delen!

Last month I entered a nice photogame on hyves, the theme was fall. It looks like fun, so I entered with one of my creations. After a while I saw that I've won the second prize! I've won 10 supernice sets of decals. Today I've got them in my mailbox, so i'm going to show you them!

Dit was overigens de foto welke ik had ingezonden, de uiltjes dus!/ This was the pic which I entered with!

 En dit is het pakketje welke ik in de bus ontving! Helemaal leuk, heb er al een aantal ideetjes mee, dus deze komen vanzelf wel op mijn blog!

And this is the package I received. I really love the decals, they're so pretty! I've got already some nice ideas with these, so they're coming soon!

 Dit zijn de eerste 3 setjes, de bovenste zijn erg leuk voor in de hoekjes van mn nagel, die daaronder zijn superschattige babykatrientjes! En de laatste zijn lieve koe decals.

These are the first 3 sets of decals. The above ones are very cute for the corners of my nails, the ones under are very sweet baby daisy's! And the last one are cute cow decals.

 Deze vind ik ook erg leuk! De bovenste zijn erg leuk voor valentijn, dit zijn decals van hartjes. Linksonder zijn schattige poesjes, en rechtsonder zijn hele leuke decals voor Halloween, deze ga ik dus ook gebruiken dit jaar met halloween!

These ones are very cute too! The above ones are very cute for valentine, these are heart decals. The one on the left are cute kitties, and the ones right are nice decals for halloween. I'm going to use these for halloween this year!

En dit zijn de laatste 4 decals. Decals van Eyjoor, deze vind ik echt helemaal geweldig! Decals van Me to You beertjes, decals van de troetelbeertjes, en leuke kikkertjes!

And these are the last ones. Decals from Eyjoor (I love eyjoor!). Decals from Me to You bears, decals from Care bears, and sweet frogs!

Essence - Choose Me

Choose Me van Essence is het laatst lakje welke ik nog niet geswatched had van de haul van een tijdje terug. Essence - Choose Me is een hele bekende dupe van Zoya Charla. Ik heb deze lak helaas zelf niet om hem te vergelijken, maar ik kan jullie natuurlijk wel de swatches van Essence - Choose Me laten zien!

Choose Me By Essence is the last polish I didn't already swatched from the polishes in my last haul. Choose Me by Essence is a really good known dupe for Zoya - Charla. Unfortunately I didn't own Charla, so I can't comparise those 2, but I can show you the swatches from Choose Me!

Zoals je kunt zien is deze lak bij mij niet geheel dekkend, heel jammer, want ik vind de kleur echt geweldig! Op bovenstaande foto heb ik al 3 laagjes aangebracht, en helaas heb ik nog steeds een VNL. Wanneer je korte nagels hebt zal deze lak ontzettend mooi zijn, dan heb je veel minder last van het zien van je eigen nagels erdoorheen (Heb hem al meerdere malen op kortere nagels gezien, en daar was deze erg mooi op!). Oh en nog even een snelle waarschuwing, het verwijderen van deze nagellak is een ramp, mn complete vingers waren blauw, bij het verwijderen zou ik je dus ook deze tip willen meegeven, gebruik deze manier!

As you can see this polish isn't really opaque, too bad, because I love the colour! I used 3 coats on above pic, and still I've got a VNL. When you've got shorter nails, this polish is really beautyful! ( I saw some swatches on short nails, and those were great!). Oh and a little warning, removing this polish is a real disaster, I would give you the tip to remove it this way!

Bovenstaande foto is een beetje blurry, maar je kunt hier de kleur en glitter wel goed op zien. In gewoon daglicht ziet deze lak er blauw uit, wanneer je er zonlicht of lamplicht op laat vallen krijgt hij een groene ondertoon! Applicatie was voor een Colour & Go lakje behoorlijk goed, de oude serie Colour & Go lakjes vond ik vaak slecht aanbrengen, maar deze is prima! Een klein nadeeltje vind ik dus dat hij niet geheel dekt, ik denk dat ik deze ook een keer ga proberen over een blauwe lak, misschien wordt het resultaat wel erg mooi! Ik las laatst trouwens dat OPI - Catch Me in Your Net ook een dupe hiervan blijkt te zijn, toevallig heb ik deze zelf ook, dus ik ga ze volgende week even vergelijken voor de geïnteresseerden!

Above pic is a bit crap, but you can see the colour and glitters very good now. With normal daylight the polish is blue with glitter, with sunlight or lamplight the polish turns a bit green, love it! Application was really good, because most Colour & Go polishes from Essence are really crappy, but this one is actually really nice! I saw somewhere that OPI - Catch me in your net also a dupe from Zoya - Charla is, and from Essence - Choose Me ofcourse. I own that polish too, so i'm going to do a comparison very soon for the interested ones!

Tutorial Pink Ribbon Nails.

Aangezien er een aantal probleempjes waren met het ontbreken van de tweede foto in de Pink Ribbon Notd (Als het goed is moet dat nu opgelost zijn!) Heb ik besloten om meteen vandaag de tutorial er achteraan te doen!

There were some little problems with the photo of the nailart in my last Notd (I hope it's solved now!) I've decided to do the tutorial today!

 Het eerste wat je doet is het klaarleggen van de spulletjes welke je wilt gebruiken, zorg ervoor dat je deze al klaar hebt liggen voordat je begint, anders moet je met natte nagels nog opzoek gaan naar bijv de french manicure guidelines ;)

The first thing you've got to do is make sure you've got all the stuff you need, start with this, because you don't want to look for by example the guidelines ;)

Dit is wat je nodig hebt, tussen de haakjes staan de producten welke ik gebruikt heb/This is what you'll need, between the brackets are the products I used:

- Base and topcoat (Catrice Nail Expert Base & Topcoat)
- Light pink polish or sheer pink polish (La Femme Beauty - Iceland Pink)
- Guidelines for french manicure (You can skip these ones if you want to paint it by hand)
- Dark pink polish ( LUCIDarling #06)
- Paintbrush or toothpick

Stap 1: Begin altijd met het opbrengen van een basecoat, daarna breng je de lichte roze kleur op je nagels, ik heb hier gekozen voor La Femme Beauty - Iceland Pink. De lak mag sheer zijn aangezien er toch wat overheen komt, dus dan is dit de perfecte manier om een keer die sheer lak te gebruiken welke je altijd vermijd!

Step 1: Make sure you start with a basecoat, after that polish your nails with the light pink polish, I choosed La Femme Beauty - Iceland Pink. You can use a sheer polish, because you're painting over it, so this is the perfect way to use that sheer polish you always ignore!

Stap 2: Breng de guidelines aan op je nagels, of als je een french manicure uit de losse hand wilt maken is stap 2 de stap om dat te doen. Als je guidelines gebruikt, zorg ervoor dat je nagels minimaal 10 min droogtijd gehad hebben, je wilt niet dat de guidelines je ondergrond meetrekken!


Step 2: Stick the guidelines on your nails, or if you can make the french manicure by hand, this is the step to make the french manicure). When you're using guidelines, make sure you're basecolour dries for a minimum of 10 minutes. You don't want the guidelines to tear off your polish!

Stap 3: Maak de french manicure, zoals ik ook gedaan heb kun je lekker kliederen als je de guidelines gebruikt. Oh kijk trouwens eens naar mn pink, daar heb ik de fast dry drops gebruik van Essence, een kleine tip, gebruik dit niet in combinatie met guidelines, want ze plakken meteen niet meer!


Step 3: Now it's time to make the french manicure. With the guidelines you don't have to be very neatly. Oh look at my pinkie, I used the Essence fast dry drops at that one; warning: Don't do that with guidelines, after applying the drops the guideline don't stick anymore!

Na het afhalen van de guidelines zien je nagels er als het goed is zo uit!/ After removing the guidelines, your nails look like this!

Stap 4: Voor dit deel moet je een beetje een vaste hand hebben, de pink ribbons moet je namelijk met de hand maken (tenzij je leuke stickertjes hebt van pink ribbon natuurlijk!). Als je een klein kwastje hebt is het het beste om deze te gebruiken, heb je dit niet? Dan kun je ook gewoon een tandenstoker/cocktailprikker gebruiken. Probeer het lintje in 1 vloeiende beweging te maken, denk er niet teveel bij na, dan ga je trillen en krijg je bobbellijntjes ;)
En zo simpel is het dus om deze pink ribbon creatie te maken!


Step 4: For this part it's handy to have a steady hand, you've got to paint the pink ribbons by yourself ( Unless you've got pink ribbon stickers!). When you've got a little paintbrush, use that one, or else take a toothpick or something like that. Try to make the ribbon with one line, don't think to much or you'll getting blob lines ;) And so easy it this creation!

Notd Pink Ribbon

Vandaag de Pink Ribbon Notd, omdat Oktober de maand van borstkanker is heb ik besloten om een leuke pink ribbon creatie te verzinnen, het is een vrij simpel ontwerp, dus mocht je nog op zoek zijn naar een leuk Pink Ribbon ideetje kun je hier misschien wat uithalen!

Today the Pink Ribbon Notd, because October is the month of breast cancer I decided to make something with the Pink Ribbon logo. It's very easy, so are you looking for a Pink Ribbon design, maybe this helps!

Als basiskleur heb ik een licht roze lak genomen, dit is La Femme Beauty - Iceland Pink. Op de foto is hij heel sheer omdat ik maar 2 hele dunne laagjes gebruikt heb aangezien er nog wat overheen komt. Applicatie van deze is prima, fijn kwastje, en ik denk dat deze wel goed dekt met 3 laagjes. (wanneer je de laagjes iets dikker aanbrengt)

For the basecolour I used a light pink shade, this one is La Femme Beauty - Iceland Pink. It's really sheer on above photo but that's because I only used two very thin layers. Application is good, nice brush and I think it's opaque in three coats ( probably you've got to use thicker coats).

 Dit is het uiteindelijke resultaat, met een donkere roze lak heb ik een french manicure gemaakt, en met diezelfde donkere lak heb ik in iedere hoek het pink ribbon logo gemaakt. Ik heb van deze Notd een fototutorial gemaakt, die binnenkort verschijnt, zodat het voor jullie duidelijk is hoe dit te maken valt (en vooral zodat je kunt zien dat het eigenlijk heel makkelijk is!).

This is the result, with a darker pink polish I made a french manicure and with the same colour I painted the pink ribbons. I've got a phototutorial for this one, so it's coming very soon on my blog so you can see how you can make this one (and to see that's really easy!)

Animals day!

Zoals de meesten wel weten is het vandaag dierendag, en juist omdat het dierendag is leek het me leuk om jullie aan mijn diertjes voor te stellen!

Most of you know that today is the day for animals, and because it's the day of animals I thought it would be fun to let you know who my animals are!

Ik begin met de oudste, onze kat Blacky, Blacky is een vrouwtje en is nu 5 jaar oud. Blacky is voor ons ontzettend lief, maar als iemand anders binnenkomt veranderd ze in een helkat :) Blacky is vooral héél lui, afentoe speels, maar over het algemeen vermaakt ze zich de hele dag met slapen/eten en het konijn pesten!

I start with the oldest one, it's our cat Blacky. Blacky is a female cat and is 5 years old now. Blacky is really sweet to us, but for all the other people, she's just like hel :). Most of the time Blacky is lazy or sometimes she's playing nice, but further she likes to sleep, eat and bully my rabbit!

Ons tweede huisdier is mijn konijn, genaamd Stampertje (jep lekker afgezaagd, maar ze doet haar naam eer aan!). Stampertje wordt in Januari 2, ik kreeg haar met mijn 16e verjaardag. Toen we haar kregen dachten we nog dat het een mannetje was (vandaar ook Stampertje) maar na een jaar kwamen we erachter dat het toch een vrouwtje was. Stampertje is echt mijn beestje, en ze zit ook het liefst bij mij, wanneer ze op de grond loopt springt ze heel lief op mn schoot om even te knuffelen. Onze kat Blacky is eigenlijk behoorlijk bang voor Stampertje, en daar maakt Stampertje flink gebruik van! Onze cavia is een lekker meelopertje dus loopt de hele dag achter Stampertje dr kont aan, Stampertje is hier thuis dus ook een beetje de alpha bitch, en als ze haar zin niet krijgt kan ze geweldig bijten en stampen in haar hok.

Our second pet is my rabbit Stampertje (Not a very original name, but she honoured her name!). Stampertje is turning 2 next January, I've got her since my 16th birthday. When we've got Stampertje we all thought she was a male, but after a year we found out that she was a girl! Stampertje is really my animal, I love her, and she only wants to cuddle with me, when she's playing on the ground she jumps at me to cuddle! Out cat Blacky is actually a bit frighten for Stampertje, so Stampertje takes it really good when it comes to frighten the cat. Our guinypig walks the whole day after Stampertje, so Stampertje is a bit of the Alpha Bitch at our house, when she don't get what she wants she can bite really mean or stamp in her cage.

Ons laatste huisdier is onze cavia genaamd Koe, begin maar alvast met lachen om de naam, maar ik vind t echt geweldig :p. Koe is een mannetje en is nu ongeveer een jaar oud. Koe is beste vriendjes met Stampertje, en vind het heerlijk om de hele dag achter stampertje aan te waggelen. Koe is hier thuis dus een beetje het sukkeltje. Hij vind het heerlijk om te buurten in het huis van Stampertje (zie foto waarop Koe naast een etensbak met 'Konijn' staat), en verder knaagt hij de hele dag aan zijn hok wanneer hij eruit wilt.

Our last pet is Koe ( Cow in dutch, start lauging about the name, haha but I like it! :P) Koe is a male guinypig, he's about a year old now. Koe is best friends with Stampertje, and he loves to walk behind Stampertje. So Koe is a bit of the dork in this house. Further he likes to visit Stampertjes cage (See pic with Koe next to the 'Rabbit' bin), and he's very annoying when he wants to be out his cage!

Dat waren dan weer onze huisdieren, ik hoop dat je een beetje hebt kunnen lachen om onze rare beesten en het leuk vond om te lezen, morgen komt er natuurlijk weer gewoon een nagellakupdate!
